Some of us on the Christ-Centered Unschoolers discussion board have been having a conversation about expressive kids. You know, how our kids like to express themselves in ways that adults sometimes perceive to be a little out of the ordinary. Sometimes kids (oh, the horror!) even like to look dirty. Well, I decided to take some pictures of Nathanael's creativity over the past couple of days. And, yes, he does go out in public like this. If you think this is bad, you should have seen Taliesin as a two-year old artist! My husband and I got lots of comments when we would take him into a crowded Wal-Mart! It just did no good to clean him up. The only time he stayed that way was when he was asleep.

Love the two tone socks! And the artwork on the leg? That is just awesome! My kids would love to use a sharpie on themselves!
Oh, sure, Mom. There is nothing wrong with using a permanent marker on one's body parts. LOL.

Bryn at 15 still likes to go out in miss matched socks :) Looks like a good week to be a kid!
I know! Around here the teenager initiate each other into the highschool by marking up the freshmen with sharpies! They do it at our county fair. You can see all the kids running around with marked up faces, arms and legs, and you just know they are the freshmen class.
You are such a sweet mom.
Welcome to my world Kandy. There is not a day that goes by that my children do not go out with some kind of self inflicted tattoo on their bodies. Cassie sported a long orange skirt, stained t-shirt, bare feet, and a kitty cat "tattoo" on her cheek, and arm (the cheek one happened while sleeping on her arm- transfer!)Sadly no picture!
