Unschooling

We are an unschooling family. I have two sons - a two-year old and a four-year old. We began homeschooing when my four-year old was just barely three. He had started speech therapy through our local public school system; and they were not in agreement that he should be homeschooled. At first, we tried a school-at-home method. That left both my son and me frustrated. That's when I discovered "Home Education Magazine" at the local public library. I loved what I read about child-led learning. So we have been slowly transitioning to unschooling since then.

Thanks to both of your for leaving comments! :^) In response to Tai, unschooling is a form of homeschooling. There are many different ways to homeschool from unschooling (child-directed learning) to school-at-home (a lot like a public or private school classroom). Unschooling is based on following the children's interests. Kind of like at the playgroup. I had plans to just gather a few leaves and then make the pictures. The kids had a different idea - to go throughout the entire park and explore everything. :^) We followed the kids' lead, and everyone enjoyed the experience. That's what unschooling is all about.
